During the weekend of 20 and 21 June 2015 a forum of international scholars, scientists, economists, sociologists, political analysts – met in Delphi Greece to discuss Greece and Europe. The organizers were the so-called “Delphi Initiative”, sponsored by the Lyssarides Foundation in Cyprus, the Greek Institute for Research on Political Strategies, the Russian Institute for Globalization and Social Movements, and the Forum Mondial des Alternatives, France.

The forum ended with a Media Conference on Monday 22 June https://youtu.be/AEALxsSWRC4 and with the issuance of The Delphi Declaration – see below.
The world must realize that the so-called troika – IMF, European Central Bank and European Commission, is literally blackmailing Greece and subjecting her to outright economic torture.

During the past days, Mr. Tsipras, Greece’s Prime Minister, has made considerable concessions to the creditors in Brussels and Washington – but none were good enough. Instead they, the notorious troika, have presented Greece with an austerity package which is simply unacceptable for the Government – and for the people.

Pensions have already been cut by close to 50% to an unlivable level especially for the poor – the troika requires more cuts.Already now most of public services and assets have been privatized, hospitals and schools closed – they want more. The public administration has already been reduced to a minimum, causing huge unemployment – they want more. They also want additional taxes which further affect the poor.

In short, they want to cause a political upheaval in Greece, creating chaos – what the Brussels / Washington gang knows best and is famous for – and, as usual – the end goal is “Regime Change”. How dare the Greek people voting for a socialist government in an otherwise fully neoliberal Europe, western world? They must be punished.

But Regime Change shall not happen. I have just published an article – Greece – The Way Out -  that offers other solutions, solutions that will allow Greece to find back to her bearings and her economic recovery.

Presentación

La etnografía (como un conjunto de técnicas de producción del dato antropológico en campo y como formato de presentación de resultados) ha sido para muchos antropólogos uno de los marcadores de identificación principales de la disciplina desde su nacimiento como ciencia en el siglo XIX. Tanto en sus formas para el análisis antropológico dirigido a la comparación, fundada en informes y relatos de viajeros o funcionarios que vivían entre los pueblos de los que hacían reportes, como aquellas otras que pugnaban por una observación participante directa  del antropólogo (el modelo identificado con Malinowski) lo fundamental ha sido el encuentro con poblaciones en su contexto inmediato. A más de un siglo de su uso en la antropología muchos analistas han hecho diversas críticas a esta forma de investigación y de presentación de resultados, por su carácter etnocéntrico, por las cargas ideológicas del productor del dato y el reporte, por los formatos de autoridad científica y etnográfica, por la unilateralidad de la representación de los sujetos, entre muchos otros cuestionamientos. Sin embargo, la etnografía sigue siendo materia de formación de nuevos antropólogos y formato de comunicación del conocimiento antropológico hacia el público más amplio. Además, la etnografía se ha reformulado hasta casi convertirse en otra cosa, en un mundo de nuevas tecnologías de registro, análisis y comunicación del conocimiento antropológico, en medio de discusiones sobre los constreñimientos de los formatos mismos de la ciencia.

En este seminario nos proponemos realizar una reflexión en torno a estos formatos etnográficos desde la perspectiva de experiencias concretas de investigación actuales, que llaman la atención sobre las posibilidades de hacer etnografía de objetos e imágenes. ¿Hasta qué punto la atención puesta en esos objetos e imágenes propone formas distintas de plantear la etnografía como método y como narrativa? Con este propósito nos reuniremos en el coloquio Etnografías, imágenes, objetos.
